  • Aly Kantor: JOY RIDE, a 10-minute comedic fantasy for two women

I was lucky enough to see a performance of this play last night, and even virtually the sheer theatricality of the world that Arianna created popped! Somehow, this tiny fantasy is simultaneously historical, contemporary, and post-historical - accessible for audiences of any generation! The voices of the two women were warm, charming, and distinct, and myriad clever references were laced right into the storytelling. Even so, the piece as a whole verged into poetry. The whole delightful piece is powered by hope and imagination, and left me feeling like I could fly! Bravo!

  • John Mabey: JOY RIDE, a 10-minute comedic fantasy for two women

A wonderful blend of history and fantasy, JOY RIDE by Arianna Rose takes us on an amazing ride in the clouds with Amelia Earhart and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt - with a special twist. And as they reenact those events, both women make important discoveries about the flight and themselves.

  • Jack Seamus Conley: JOY RIDE, a 10-minute comedic fantasy for two women

A beautifully written, thought provoking comedy (not an easy feat to balance, but Arianna Rose does this wonderfully) that explores a reimagined meeting between Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart. Would be a wonderful and fun set of roles for any female-identifying actors. In Joy Ride, the experience of reading or watching the play lives up to its name. Well done.

  • Charles Scott Jones: JOY RIDE, a 10-minute comedic fantasy for two women

A delightfully reminiscent fantasy that imagines an actual plane ride that Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt took together in 1933. (Both historical figures are inspirational and deserve far more attention than they receive these days.) Arianna Rose's dialogue is full of charm and makes you wish you were on that plane, as they relive their JOY RIDE. At rise, I like Amelia's chiding the audience about fixating on one day when there were so many - and her statement: "My seat at the table is the sky." It's uplifting - a giddy flight - to experience these fine women together.
