Even an eternity as Lord of Hell doesn't prepare Lucifer for the special circle of hell that is the DMV. This spot-on parody of bureaucratic arbitrariness is scathingly funny and yet oddly familiar. Hang on to your social security card if you know what's good for you.

Nora Louise Syran's tale about Lucifer's attempt to renew his driver's license is instantly relatable. One almost feels sorry for the Lord of Hell as he discovers there's a circle of hell that's completely outside his control. A delightful satire on bureaucrats, red tape, and how the best laid travel plans can be deep sixed without a copy of your social security card.

Hilarious! And who among us will not read this play's title and immediately feel a sense of recognition and dread?? This wonderful spoof of the "hell" of the DMV would make a very fun addition to a ten-minute play festival.

Very funny tale about the devil trying to renew his driver's license and I love the last bit of dialogue where the first thing that he encounters in the DMV handbook is a roundabout! It's so odd to me that even with all the advance technology the DMV remains one of those places that is locked into a hellish zone.

An absolutely hilarious short about the devil trying to navigate the DMV. Dante didn't write about this circle of hell, but I think we've all been there.

Syran has confirmed my fear that if I am sent to Hell, I will spend eternity at the DMV trying to prove I once existed. The play is chock full of clever tidbits but that ending - oh the ending. Proof positive the DMV exists in a circle of Hell.

What new circle of hell is this? Nora Louise Syran shows us from the devil’s perspective and, in the process, serves up some clever one-liners. My favorite: …I invited the Whore of Babylon to come along with me in my 1972 Convertible Dodge Demon… A really fun short play.

After reading this play I’m happy to announce I still have over 2 years until my next visit to get my license renewed! Nora Louise Syran created a wonderful comedy and that is all too relatable! Great work!

I love plays like this in which the Devil gets a taste of his own medicine, and who better to deliver it than a being as evil as himself, the clerk at the DMV. Nora Louise Syran almost makes one feel sorry for him in this very funny short duologue. Highly recommended!

Hell is bureaucracy. And somehow WE created this system to make things "easier?" The fun in this piece is watching the creator of all evil suffer the same things we all must suffer in order to simply exist! Both roles would be delightful to play!
