Brenton Kniess's clever play is Sweeney Todd if he owned an ice cream truck. The ending of Melt was surprising. The dialogue flows wonderfully. The two characters feel authentic, even when one of them takes a malicious turn.

Brenton Kniess builds his clever little play with a number of increasingly subtle revelations until we finally see how girlfriend Stacy is just not going to let boyfriend David escape her clutches. Does anyone else sense a kinship with "Sweeney Todd"?

Well ... still processing. And that's a good thing. I love dark and funny and this play is full of dark and seemingly sincere - until you're in on the punchline when it becomes dark and funny. Very well done. I'd love to see this staged. Not sure I'll ever look at ice cream the same though. Bravo!

As some others have commented, that ending is not one you will see coming. However, I'm not going to talk about that because you NEED to read this play for yourself to discover it. As well as the fabulous twist ending, Brenton offers the audience a snapshot, not only into the specific relationship of these two characters, but also a situation that a lot of people can relate to (having to chose one aspect of your life over another). It's a play that offers a great deal in ten minutes and will leave audiences smiling (and a little shocked)!

There’s plenty of good humor to be found in this story of the ice cream truck business. The central question is, will Stacey give up the family ice cream truck to marry David? The answer will surprise you! And you might think twice before you buy that next pint of Ben and Jerry’s!

Well I sure didn't see that coming. Stacy's choice between David and her family's ice cream truck certainly has unexpected dimensions. This cold dark comedy is a frozen treat.

Wow! There is much more to an ice cream truck than meets the eye. A family-owned ice cream business suddenly turned spooky! Brenton Kneiss penned a horror masterpiece- a short, velvety smooth icy delight that will freeze your bones! I would love to see the audience suffer the same shock I experienced while reading the play.

Oh my! The scariest things are in what appears to be the most normal settings. And I walked right into this trap. The ice cream ran cold shivers up my spine but the proprietor of this most unusual ice cream truck won't overcharge her customers. It's a family thing.
