  • Robert Alexander Wray: Literally Forever

Very well wrought play about "love at first bite" issues as told through the fledgling romance of two girls, one of whom happens to be a vampire who's been around for centuries. Sweet, funny and also quite theatrical at times in the best sense of the word. An entertaining morsel, this.

I’m not easily drawn to vampire stories, but this one with two teens (albeit one actually centuries old) was a sweet love story enhanced by the blood thirsty aspect. The tentativeness and longing between Harmony and Leah is all to human even though the result of their union is something altogether different. Well done.

Sam Heyman uses a sweet relationship and a time-honored metaphor to underscore a great script about coming into your own and finding your people.

Just the coolest short play. I was so into Harmony and Leah getting to know each other -- and in Leah's case getting to know her (new) self. Not a false word or beat, just a dark, funny, compelling ride.

Such a wonderful yet delicious play about sexy vampire transformations, to drinking blood for the first time, to funny and cute moments between two eternal lovers! Sam Heyman has given us a wonderful story that not only has Leah's live changed for the better, but now has her Harmony literally forever! Bravo Sam!

Vampire stories that are queer and sexy are pretty easy to find, I grant you; but one that's also exceptionally witty, romantic, wistful, and forward-looking? Loaded with wry repartee and metaphors that resonate in entirely new ways? For that, you'll have to search harder...or just read Sam Heyman's Literally Forever, a fresh and utterly charming addition to the genre. Better yet, produce it, so more people can find it.

A classic tale with a twist. When you remove the darkness from a monster story, you are often left with sadness. But in this feisty short play, you are left with possibilities. Sam has given us a romantic turn on an age old legend.

To hear Harmony's story, you know the real monsters aren't the ones who drink blood. At least, not exclusively. And Leah is getting the gift from Harmony to rise above all that. With the perspective of eternity, plus the power she feels growing inside her it's amazing she is ready to forgo the "scaring old bullies" and fully embrace her "bloody new world." Luckily she has a wonderful teacher to guide her "literally forever."

What a fabulously sexy and sweet view into the world of two young lovers - one with history and knowledge - the other just coming into her own. Trust and communication is the key here, and Harmony and Leah are off to an amazing start for centuries to come. DELIGHTFUL!

  • Daniel Prillaman: Literally Forever

Fun, sexy, and actually quite wholesome, Heyman's play is a delightful little burst of queer horror. The encounter parallels someone's first time, and the vampiric twist adds layer upon layer into the relationship. Sometimes it can be awkward having a partner with loads more "experience" than you, but communication, trust, and a healthy blood pack will always keep those feelings at bay. I would watch these characters for...(wait for it)...literally forever.
