Right off the bat (ha ha): incredibly sexy, romantic piece. But that's the baseline, friends. Total admiration of how Heyman found some inventive ways to portray the vampire mythos, considering how worn the trope can be. That's not present here, though, as there's some surprising life affirmation coming from the undead. Whoda thunk it? A lot of good laughs as well. Wouldn't mind spending more time with these wonderful characters. In the meantime, loved the time I got to spend with them. Great!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE when writers take on established genres and rewrite the rules. Sam Heyman's play "Literally Forever" is a funny and sweet take on tale of lesbian vampires who found the ideal way to cope with a world that doesn't want their kind (no, I'm not talking about vampires). Leah and Harmony are my new favorite couple and I want to see them in more plays. For audiences and actors alike, this is a great introduction.

Yesss! Age gap discourse when "getting it on" with eldritch entities!? The fandom discourse-loving girlie in me is CACKLING! But there's a more profound message to this play, too—about the potentially dangerous lengths that queer teens will go to in order to escape unsafe homes and communities...and how those of us who have experienced the worst of it can create a safer future for those still to come. I think teens will LOVE playing these roles, and the humor is great! Sexy, supernatural fun!

From the opening beats I was caught up in this sexy, funny vampire romance. Leah is hardly the stereotypical simpering vampire victim. The question is, did she get more than she bargained for or exactly what she wanted? She will certainly be living with the consequences of her choice in perpetuity. I am rooting for eternal happiness with Harmony.

The first day at a new place can be jarring and confusing if you don't have a mentor; someone who not only will show you how things work, but care enough to teach you more than just the basics. In this tale, Harmony is doing more than just showing Leah around and going over the basics. She genuinely cares for her as a friend and perhaps even more than that. And who doesn't need that companionship and caring, especially if it's going to be a long-term commitment? And I do mean long.

03.09.25 - I was surprisingly taken with Leah and Harmony as characters in Sam Heyman's vampire romance. Both women are searching for something. Harmony, a companionship she's long missed since being discarded by the vampire who turned her, and Leah, who looked upon the lifestyle (deadstyle?) as "a cool gift". It was fate that had these two find each other. After a period of adjustment (with it's own clever bits - I loved the line "We'll get you a rawhide.") These two can love literally forever.
