As a playwright I work to create theater that champions diversity, explores a wide range of cultures, celebrates African-American history, affirms women, empowers youth and embraces new personal and global understandings.

I am inspired by socially conscious theater which uses story to explore tough questions, excite our emotions, challenge our brains and generate wonder; theater where visions of who we were, are, or might be explode on stage to make us smarter, happier, deeply moved, or understand more. In short – theater that, through story, makes us better!
