I seek to put art on stage that asks important questions about our lives, our community, and our world through stories that are intimate, raw, and accessible. I do this by working with collaborators who are open, curious and dedicated to making the best work possible. And I try to embody those same qualities working with them. I seek to engage the audience directly and honestly and consider them the last collaborator in the process.

I make art that seeks gender and racial parity, providing opportunities for artists who do not have enough of them. I seek to make stories about and for underserved and overlooked communities, be they LGBT, the elderly, the poor, or the abused and bullied. I tell stories about people who don’t usually get stories told about them.

I tell stories where the impossible can find its way onstage. Where oceans can fall from the sky. Where dead mothers can be reborn as willow trees. Where the poorest, saddest girl in school can become the most powerful. I tell stories that question the assumptions we make about our world in the hopes that the audience will help each other, and myself, find new ways of looking at things.
