My plays tend to sit between what's real and what's not—something that feels true to my relationship with queerness, Jewishness, and my upbringing in Hawai'i, which I also write about! I like to make people laugh, but mostly in ways that make them double back and ask, "Was that okay to laugh at?" Life is just so beautifully stupid, we have to laugh. Lately, I’ve been writing about the fissures of power dynamics in places we really don't want them.
