Artistic Statement

I am excited, as both a playwright and consumer of stories, by works that deeply explore the relationship between a pair or small group of people. The way we relate to one another and how these relationships deeply affect our lives has always fascinated me. I seek to tell stories that cause the audience to examine more deeply the relationships in their own lives: ones they may be taking for granted, ones that may be in need of ending, and even ones formed in unexpected moments with strangers. My works are an exploration of the humanity, awkwardness, and sense of community that are central components of how we relate to each other and, by extension, the world.
