I believe that words are magic, in the way that a certain arrangement of letters or sounds can make someone laugh, cry, or even see the entire world differently. Everyone finds themselves with complex feelings, conflicting beliefs, and impossible decisions to make at one time or another, and we turn to art for a sense of catharsis. The sense of comfort that comes with recognizing yourself in another is why I strive to create characters for those who rarely see people like themselves on the stage, who struggle with the universal difficulties of life on earth.
