I think there's an extended beauty in art when norms are broken. If they're readjusted in a way that is specific to the medium of art it is being displayed in. That's why I believe that there must always be a reason a written play works best as a play, opposed to a film or a book. As a playwright, I hope to not only convey the message of the story through words, but I opt to give directors, set designers, and technicians as much freedom as possible to take risks and make the show theirs. The skeleton was already created, now it's time to see how others build the body.
