  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Brave People

What an intimate moment to put onstage! I enjoyed how difficult it would be to go through this, and the humor really helps move the play forward so that they can manage the difficulty. It actually felt alarmingly funny - like the humor is so heightened because the moment is so hard. An amazing way to tell this story.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: MOLTING

What a wonderfully written play! The humor draws me in. The dialogue is masterful. The characters are real and honestly struggling together. And then it breaks your heart! Lovely and strong work, great for actors. Very well done.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Are You My Last Stop?

I love the way Lewis takes time to create such a wonderfully playable courtship mirroring the Austen books Denali reads. The characters are so 3-D and well drawn with clear goals. When they get to the end, we get to the end at the same time. Well done!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Do You Party?

Wow, this play terrorized me in a good way - super-uncomfortable stuff going on! These characters are intense, and I really felt for Abby. And the ending is killer. Great work!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Louisiana Shoal

Louisiana Shoal is a beautiful play, beginning to end. The magic of a mysterious swamp glows in colors from toxic chemicals and the magic of the universe. This magic expands and pulls us in to offer us hope, the other edge of the unknown, if we can stand to embrace it. Wonderful work!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Autistic Doula- MONOLOGUE

Such a true piece! As a late diagnosed autistic person (at almost 56) I love this monologue! So timely and important. Well, late actually, but finally! And it's full of heart which is what we all need. Heart and kindness. And the reality that chances are you too may be autistic - read it and see. Self-diagnosis is acceptable these days because everyone knows now that the doctors don't really know. And Avery's monologue will help. Autistics unite!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Better Call Shoenstein

It warms my heart to see such a winning combination - two collaborators who seem made for each other - coming together to create a very funny play inspired by two separate but equally funny individual projects! I expect sequels and prequels and eventually a franchise. As they say in Hollywood, it's got legs! Laughter is the best medicine. Thank you both (Norkin and Busser) for making me laugh.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Release the Karen!

Following the trail of how Shoenstein was created, I want to recommend this rompus most hilaritus. From the silliest character names to "Death has dropped in for brunch" and beyond, I was rolling in the aisles, and you know how hard it is to roll in just one aisle... I'm glad to see that The Karen's monologue has been published for posterity.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: When in Rome

A fabulously fast farce from Ancient Rome with many relevant anachronistic and even anarchic references that are really raucously funny and so a propo. I especially loved the dig at the Times. Keep that fake news coming! (I read this because I had to understand the history to read the collaboration between Norkin and Busser, and I am so glad I did. No pies were tossed while writing this rec.)
