  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Boogie on the Third Rail

Brilliant work that helps us to remember, to take in and bear witness to the tragedies of our times. Anntares has enormous empathy for humanity and her work here is pitch perfect. Read it, watch it, produce it everywhere!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Wardrobe

Mansfield's wordless play is a marvel of reversals, and with each change, there is more we write into the story of the play, so that as Rebecca changes her mind, we are filled with awe and wonder.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: CUBIST RODEO CLOWNING

Enormous fun to be had in this ten minute play perfect for any festival. From the rodeo-clowning on a suitcase instead of a steed to the marvelous dialogue, Charles Scott Jones solves a number of dramaturgical issues in this short hilarious play. The characters are well-drawn and specific. They all want something, and every role is a good one to play. A director would have a blast with this!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: she was once most beautiful

This New York City play is filled with the real and the physical / the magical and the dream-like and mythic. As Karuc lets these worlds/imaginings collide, theatricality, humor and pure enjoyment ensue. This is a thrilling play that ponders big questions.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: FALLING IN TIME

Falling in Time is a smart, funny, quirky play about a new relationship hidden under a lot of veterinary science that is exciting because it creates hope and possibility. Makes me wonder about many parts of life including the horizontal and vertical aspects of our existence and when they meet, what is meant or not meant to be.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Forgetting

Fascinating look at the afterlife and how hard it is to lose some of our memories, even the painful ones.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Spark

A wonderfully theatrical look at authenticity for young audiences/schools where it is most needed. All the transformations of adolescence get the brilliant metaphorical touch of Vansant's magic. With great roles for female actors!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Man They Turned Into a Dog by Osvaldo Dragun (translation)

This would be a riot to be in as an actor. A very funny play that Vansant translates to maintain its humor in spite of its dark message that society has the power to make us whatever society says we are - and isn't that what denies us all our authenticity and forces us to become shells of ourselves? As such, it is inspiring and would help us all to find our integrity and never let it go! I am grateful for this translation - it is rare that we get a glimpse into anything different.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Unmarrying Kind

A marvelously Chekhovian drama of mythic proportions! The characters are so alive, throwing themselves against every painful brick wall they can find (and each other). While I felt terrible for their suffering, I was also much amused. Americans heartbroken in the pissing-down English seaside where the English get to triumph over them, albeit politely. The musical suggestions add a dash of irony to every scene, as structural under-girdings and tone clues. Lovely.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Lipstick

Such a sad moment, especially the discrepancy between the Palestinian character and the Canadian. As Simon imagines them, their concerns, their cultures are so incredibly distinct from each other, I feel acute embarrassment and shame in a good way - the best discomfort there is - a play that makes us aware of our shortcomings so that we may do better.
