  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: THE SEAHORSE (Monologue Version)

Such a beautiful play, I was in tears! Here is a whole story, beginning, middle and end, that caught me up in the tension of the difficulty of what Greg is trying to do in the middle of this hateful American culture that makes it even harder for him to be himself. Juggling all that, Bivens manages to create 4 strongly identifiable characters (the Princess, the mother, the stranger and the dad) while even making the little girl's responses clear. This would be a great role for an actor to play! Easy to produce and a hit for any festival!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Power Play

First I love the body positivity! Power Play does not shy away from the brutal realities of the dark side of the theatre and would make for some very cringey (in a good way) revelations onstage in performance. The relentlessness of the oppression builds beautifully. The male privilege on display is undeniable and so real. And the play earns its glorious ending. I am cheering for the future of theatre, thanks to Greene.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Aglaonike's Tiger

Such theatricality and lush language to portray a story both necessary and profoundly inspiring and empowering. Aglaonike's Tiger is a thrill to be staged again and again as a modern classic.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Dr. Ride's American Beach House

This beautifully written piece is a dream play that imagines naturalism in such a way that stirs my soul. As a period piece in a period I lived through and remember, this moment in time is now included in my own memories of that moment because it is so evocative and moving. The desire the characters carry and can't articulate aches and resonates.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Swallow

A haunting play that will stay with me - the me on the bathroom floor - this is a wonderfully honest clear piece that shows a woman in distress even as she's moved past the drama of it, there is still the pain and the haunting and the character... I look forward to it being part of a full-length play!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Brothers on a Hotel Bed (15 minute play)

Lots of lovely surprises as this progresses, and it's clear that there's so much to work out between the two fully drawn characters, but in this short play they get to what's necessary in order to connect, and that's a beautiful thing. Wonderful work!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: A Benevolent Alliance of Mourners

A moving play - all the feels here - that helps us all process the difficulties of grief and loss through two young characters who are both working their ways through loss. It is great to see how strangers can reach out to each other and connect and leaves me with a feeling of hope. I also love how their characters' specific needs cause them to work at making this connection so that they don't walk away before it's solid. Well done.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Cressida and the Fall of Troy

As part Greek, I love the Greeks which complicates this play for me, but I identify so strongly with Cressida here - a great role for an actress to bite into - it is certainly an inspired piece that deserves our attention. Love the theatricality of the language, and the joy of getting to see a strong female heroine who is 3-dimensional in such fabulous and complex ways!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Prefers Bright Indirect Light

Fabulous! Fantastical and funny! I LOOOOOOVE this play! I love the unidentified plant most of all and feel for their life, their angst and their pain, and the note they find is such brilliant playwriting (giving us a window on the people who live by that windowsill) - prepare to be amazed! Life and death in all its mundane brevity here made intense and eminently watchable, readable, producible and ENJOYABLE - thrilling!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Shabbat Shalom, Singles

Such a smart play where the action keeps moving forward with the audience questioning the outcome while thing after thing goes wrong - I loved finding out what was in the box! And the ending is perfect.
