  • Karen Saari: I LOVE A PARADE, a 10-minute dystopian political drama

This gripping short piece feels all too real in our current political climate. Deftly written, this play has a perfect balance of tension, pain and fragility in its plot and characters. If you want a short piece that packs a swift and powerful punch, this is it. Bravo!

A compelling story arc in so few pages! The situation and characters are painfully and beautifully relatable in this tight, well-written short play!

  • Karen Saari: Mission

This is a great piece that beautifully depicts the complicated mix of uncertainty and hope one feels in a relationship that is no longer fulfilling. Weibezahl uses humor and grace for the characters as he shows us the crossroads they are at. Highly recommend!

  • Karen Saari: 4RW

As you enter the worlds that dwell inside this apartment, you'll experience a profound sense of intimacy with the characters. The authors skillfully connect three generations of 4RW's inhabitants with great humanity and symmetry. They place you in the heart of NYC yet the characters face obstacles that are relevant to all of us. The relationships in each of these pieces feel natural and relatable but never predictable. This is a gorgeous play that deserves to be produced. I recommend this piece wholeheartedly!

  • Karen Saari: 500/501

This short play is loaded with heart and humor. While it sheds light on topical issues (animal rights, farming practices) it does so with grace. Taylor Sklenar trusts that our affection for 500 and 501 will make us think, and he's right. I highly endorse this play!

  • Karen Saari: Discharged

Charles Ranum paints a vivid picture of the range of effects war has on our veterans. We need to see more stories like this. This piece illustrates the complexity of individual reactions to the shared trauma of war and the emotions that accompany the return to civilian life. Deeply moving piece.

  • Karen Saari: Artifact

This play about a chance meeting is absolutely riveting. Robert Weibezahl creates a believable and moving connection between two very different people. Both characters are full of heart and surprises. This play would be an excellent addition to any one-act festival. I wholeheartedly recommend!

  • Karen Saari: Some Specter

I want everyone I know to read and see this play! John Adams has managed to skillfully craft a very funny parody piece (Scooby Doo/Hardy Boys/Encyclopedia Brown) that contains a deeper, touching story about friendship and loss. Big love and recommendations for this play!

  • Karen Saari: TOUCH THE MOON One Act Play, 3 Characters

I recently had the good fortune of seeing this suspenseful and devastating piece. Arianna Rose captures the heartache and desperation of a mother searching for answers to a mystery every parent fears. I strongly recommend this play!
