This script is both delightfully and all too relatable. The characters are so smart, funny and stuck in a situation still too familiar to most women. Excellent satire of the TV writing industry!

What a fun, insightful piece that pays tribute to two legendary artists while also celebrating the necessity of experiencing art. This monologue also provides opportunity for a mature woman. I highly recommend this piece. I learned a little about the artists and it left me smiling. A joy to read!

What a compelling piece! More than a generational disagreement, this play forces us to consider the ugly truths that sometimes lie behind our favorite art and artists ... while also taking a look at cancel culture and its implications on art. Taut writing, rich characters ... I didn't just read this play. I devoured it! Would love to see this in production!

This play is a powerful work of historical fiction. The stakes are high as Ernesto risks losing everything his family his family has worked so hard for. He is a character that you root for despite the heartbreaking choices he makes. He's a good man caught between what he feels are trappings of his heritage and a desperate hope for a prosperous future for his family. Every character is so finely nuanced--you will ache for each of them. Highly recommend!

Every character in this play is drawn with such clarity and humanity. While each of them likely saw the end of their industry looming ahead, they clung to a hope that it might survive. Their individual responses to having to leave the work and world of trucking are akin to what often happens in small towns when a major employer shuts down. The varied responses to "what's next" range from anger and grief to resilience and even newfound freedom. Beautful work. I recommend highly.

I saw a staged reading of this slyly powerful piece at the 2022 Flint Repertory Theatre New Works Festival. The story is both brilliantly funny and feels terrifyingly plausible. The characters represent women from several walks of life but never feel like "types,' just very real depictions. I swear I've met all of them. I wholeheartedly recommend this play!

I just read this play for the second time and enjoyed it even more. It is JAM-packed (note derby reference) with fun, interesting roles for women, while also taking us through the main character's personal journey. The dialogue is smart and authentic with a fast-paced rhythm that reflects the Brooklyn backdrop oh so well. I highly recommend!

Irene's voice is so vivid and clear in this piece. I like her. I feel for her. I wanted to hear more--which means the playwright has done his job extremely well. Great piece!

I'm kind of a geek for modern day takes on fairy tales and nursery rhymes so this was right up my alley. Super fun little piece that would fit great in a night of one-acts. Highly recommend!
