I feel that moving an audience is what plays do better than any other medium. As a writer, I want to be touched and surprised by the material I am working on. Hopefully, that can be transferred to the audience. I write plays that attempt to reflect other-ness and that deal with universal issues that anyone can relate to. Most important, my writing tries to get under the skin of my characters to reveal unexpected truths and secrets.
