How are you not a John Perovich fan? The Date Play is yet another fast paced, comedic, intelligent work from the master himself. In short order, you find yourself immediately attracted to one of the characters and that's not by mistake. I assure you, this is NOT just another play about dating...it's much much more than that. But don't let me spoil it for you. Read it now...and you'll know exactly what I mean. Bravo, John! Bravo!

Although I've never eaten gingerbread before, I have consumed anything from Rand Higbee I can get my hands on. Rand has "a natural aptitude for using words and ideas in a quick and inventive way to create humor" which is the very definition of wit. And he does it once again. A light yet dark composition worth a read, demanding production and most likely to be rewarded with unending accolades. Rand is the master of the short...please read immediately. The very lives of our fish may depend on it.

Greg Abbott has a way of bringing you in and once you're in, there's no escape. How often do we look at print journalist photos and ask ourselves how on earth can a real person take the shot instead of dropping the camera and helping the victim? What kind of person can be so removed from humanity? How do they turn it off and just 'do their job.' The award winning photographer Bob is such a person. But then something happens, something horrendous, something grisly and Bob will never be the same again.

The secret to a great comedy, is writing something the audience/reader will lose its breath to as the laughs come unrelenting. Rand has that gift. His wit is on display throughout the play. You think you've seen it before, you think you've heard before, but that's his magic--it's not what you think--it's what you feel or sense as witness to what surely must be madness. Loving and laughing at the characters and their aspirations makes this a sure fire hit with any audience. Bravo! Bravo! Meow!
