I write comedy/dramas that are character driven and find humor in what characters do to each other as well as what they say. Many of my characters are struggling to grow emotionally, spiritually, intellectually - some do not know that is what they are doing until circumstances push them in that direction. I have been very lucky to have been mentored by some really great theatre artists beginning with playwright, Michael Weller and including Austin Pendleton, Arvin Brown, Olympia Dukakis and the late Paul Benedict - all four deepened my knowledge of playwriting when they directed my plays Off-Off Bway and in regional theaters.
