  • Rachael Carnes: Concordance

A fascinating exploration of keeper and kept, madness and maddening - Minigan's historical ride takes twists and turns, climbs peaks deftly and crashes down thunder that can be heard across the centuries. I drank this play like a tall glass of water, wishing that a theatre company would take a chance on its world. Check it out!

  • Rachael Carnes: Mr. Bee-Zoo's Lunch

Burton hits on all cylinders in this fast-paced send-up of corporate America and the parade of miscreants it begets. As a former Seattleite, who's watched that once fun and funky city become gobbled up by "Amazyn", I hope that CEO Jeff sees a production of this gem ASAP.

  • Rachael Carnes: P. Lay

Hahaha! Salant's bonkers courtroom comedy riffs along like an old Hollywood movie, with that who's-on-first rat-a-tat-tat. An audience will eat this up, and creative teams will have a ball mining it for its rhythm and energy.

  • Rachael Carnes: Engagement

There's a low simmer from the get-go that grows in intensity throughout Thompson's sharp two-hander. The setting asks these characters to reach into history as they both forecast their uncertain future, and this clever structure asks us, the reader/audience, to reconcile the past with this distinctive, yet relatable, moment.

    Perfection. Thank you, Marj.

I've worked with DC as a collaborator on #CodeRedPlaywrights for almost two years - So I know his work in response to gun violence, and have long admired his ability to craft meaningful, clear and true dialogue. But I didn't know that DC is *wicked funny* too! Always delightful to see a new side of a friend's writing, and this short play is a gem. Versatility - being able to bounce from drama to comedy - is the mark of serious chops.

  • Rachael Carnes: Grandmother's House

A compelling, heartbreaking story, told with emotion that feels so real. Loewenstern's penchant for rhythm and language is so clear here. Who among us wouldn't connect these beautiful characters to someone we know, or knew?...

  • Rachael Carnes: Moments of Crisis: Online Love Connection

Hahaha — This short play's a riot. A ghoulish farce, it would be perfect for any Halloween line-up. I want to see so many more vampire dating plays, now that I've discovered my new favorite play genre!

  • Rachael Carnes: Den Bla Planet

What an evocative and effective piece of theatre. Dooley's compelling characters are served by the eerie backdrop that would give any team a creative playground to work with. There's a richness to the language and a startling depth of conversation - this play feels totally relevant, and timeless. Check it out!

  • Rachael Carnes: Recognition [a monologue]

Wow! What a stunning piece of writing. So grateful to Martin for penning a beautiful piece for a mature woman to perform. And this monologue offers everything she might need to create a deep connection with her audience. It's fascinating, heartbreaking, and hopeful. There's musicality and rhythm here that can't be taught. A lovely piece of work. I would love to see this onstage!
