Well....what an extraordinary piece of writing - certainly that of a very fertile mind. Jarred Corona juggles, balances, and performs acrobatics with words in this wonderfully absurd, bizarre and very off-the-wall comedy. The puns and wordplay comes thick and fast, see if you can keep up. Brilliantly original!
  • Stay As Long As You Like

Sharing a home, sharing a life, sharing anything is something which can make or break a relationship - we all know that going on holiday together can be a real relationship maker or breaker. In this wonderfully amusing and emotional monologue Sebastian Timpe, beautifully captures that uncertainty of when a friendship has transcended the normal into the special and when the communion of two persons should be made official. This is writing which is full of heart and soul and very, very reminiscent of many of our own life experiences. Super stuff!
  • Cheese & Crackers (YA one-minute play)
    2 Apr. 2021
A moment in time. Encapsulating anything within one minute when writing a play is a real art. In this case Matthew Weaver offers a tantalising glimpse of a very sweet story of love and friendship - two young people with different views on how close the friendship is, should or could be. This is one minute of utter delight which in performance would be sure to stir emotions. Love it.

There is something about this very clever piece of story-telling that makes you rather wonder if it has some truth - yes, really! Jonathan Cook has created an amusing, but disturbingly 'realistic' piece of sci-fi - within the space of a few minutes he transports the audience into a world which might make us all look over our shoulder a little more often. Smart, perceptive and mindbendingly good work.

This is a clever two-hander. If you're on the run, then just make sure you know who you are getting involved with. William Thomas Berk tells a very believable tale giving few hints as to how things will progress, leaving the audience to use their imagination as to what happens next. Inventive, original and fun!

Oh this is fantastic; Tom Moran has crafted a rather too realistic business meeting, choc-a-bloc full of ludicrous business-speak whilst offering an intriguing plot scenario. The ending made me chuckle with delight. Very, very funny and well observed!!

Whoa! What an original take on forbidden love. The setting of the story gives such an extra belt of intrigue and atmosphere. The electrical charge between the two characters buzzes off the page - would be brilliant to see staged. Cam Torres provides a unique and compelling love story which packs an enormous punch. Blistering stuff.
  • I See You

A meeting which may well chime with many, many people having lived through the COVID pandemic. Meeting, getting close to, even touching someone else; is awkward, we are tentative. What we once took for granted is suddenly something we question. Serena Norr's short piece is a reflection of incidents that we will all experience as the pandemic passes. Perceptive writing.
  • Fred's Red Head

An extraordinary piece of writing and mightily effective. David Patton enters the head of a small boy as he delivers his thoughts and prayers in an effusive, funny and moving torrent of words. Breathless, punctuation-free and quite beautiful. Oh, wouldn't it be so wonderful to hear a young child perform this! Tremendously original.

Sharing your life with others is something that needs caution on every front. Sometimes the smallest matter, the slightest incident can cause a tension and resentment. In FINE, John Perovich very smartly explores how assumptions can play on one person's trust of another. It is the trivial that can cause lasting damage to friendships and relationships. Clever work.
