  • Bruce Karp: DOUBLE TROUBLE, a 5-minute comedy

A terrific, full-bodied five-minute play, with a truly clever plot, full of humanity and fun. Arianna has a gift for creating entirely believable characters, put into all kinds of situations from tragic to comic. Here, comedy wins, and good for all of us!

  • Bruce Karp: SWAMP GIRL (a 10 minute play)

Marj's characters are always so fully realized, and this is no exception. The clever story brings two people together who couldn't be more different, yet there is a tremendous amount of humanity as the "common sense" woman tries to help her more "clueless" good friend. Much humor, and the action always seems real, which is Marj's specialty. Very much worth reading.

  • Bruce Karp: ADRIFT

Short and to the point: Adrift is hilariously written with great characters and a great twist at the end. Ms. Warfield has a terrific ear for dialogue. Loved it!

  • Bruce Karp: ROOM 27

I really enjoyed the premise of this play, and, as soon as I saw the character list, I knew what the significance was of the number "27." Very clever, and, seeing a Zoom version of the play, it clearly works that way, and would work on a stage. With crackling dialogue, the play also takes on a surprisingly nostalgic tone, comparing the classic music of the characters favorably against today's music mish-mash. Worth reading, and should be seen, too.

  • Bruce Karp: [20 minute musical] R.S.V.P. - Book by Donna Warfield, Lyrics by Arianna Rose, Music by Aden Kent Ramsey

Madcap is indeed the perfect word to describe R.S.V.P. I've had the pleasure of seeing this musical play performed with its wonderfully clever book and songs. It is hilarious, with great roles for all the actors, and deserves to be seen. Kudos to all involved!

  • Bruce Karp: TOUCH THE MOON - full-length play, 5 characters

This play is going to touch everyone's heart. It's based on fact, is thrilling in its conception, and so well-written. You will feel something for every character, even the one(s) you may not be rooting for. It is starting to be noticed, which is great, so let's hope it gets the production it deserves.

  • Bruce Karp: Fable

Wow, I've just finished reading this complex and original take on one of the best-known and most beloved musicals. I am so impressed at how Doug has been able to juggle the timing, the movement, the stage business, coming up with a beautiful, tasty salad of a story. It is highly believable, funny, and heartbreaking at the same time, and deserves a production.

  • Bruce Karp: The Fierce Urgency Of Now

I loved this play. Mr. DeVita clearly knows the advertising world and both the story and the characters absolutely pop with authenticity. The plot twists are surprising and moving, and each character has a clear voice. I also liked the "Auntie Mame" references, as it is my favorite movie. Dodo is a great character and to find out that she really existed was a lovely coda to the experience of reading this lovely play.
