In case you were wondering: Yes, zombies can be deep. Yes, they can want more out of undeath than just brains. And their victims can try to be a little more sympathetic... ? This is great fun with tight dialog and good comic timing.

Specific yet universal, this short piece captures a granddaughter’s resolve in the face of deep, personal grief. Powerful and poignant in its understatement.

Riverwood is a powerful social statement and a beautiful depiction of hope, despair, grief and rage channeled through five richly drawn and very human characters, against a backdrop of displacement and neighborhood gentrification. The language is both raw and lush, stark and poetic. Highly recommended.

This taut 10-minute play is full of intensity and emotion, and all too believable, given our current political climate in the US. Well worth a read.

What fun! A chicken on the cusp of a decision. Will she make it? And what will happen to Carl?

Wow. What a powerful short play. Two characters dealing with profound changes and new vulnerabilities. An audience choice award winner in the festival where I recently saw it performed.

Canfield playfully takes the relatable stereotypes of ‘haughty artist’ and ‘ignorant tourist,’ adds depth and backstory, and turns a chance encounter into an opportunity for real connection.

This twisty little gem pulls the rug out from under you more than once in the last few pages. Clever and satisfying, and a great workout for four actors.
  • The Final Problem of Sherlock Holmes

A fine, fast-moving adaptation of two of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. The language is spot-on, and the atmosphere relies on the audience's imagination as much as the magic of theater. A must for afficionados of the great detective and his chronicler Dr. Watson, and a wonderful opportunity for a company of actors.

It’s a Tuesday, and the end of the world, but at least the coffee’s good! A brief, delightful skewering of the self(ie)-obsessed.
