  • Funny, jarring, and defying all expectations, this short play is fascinating encounter between a woman and the childhood bunny she loved and left as a child. Children often move on quickly from their stuffed toys in favor of whatever new exciting one grabs their attention. Lawing explores the unthought of after effects of those broken hearted toys who were left behind. Lots of fun!

  • Adult siblings reminisce about a childhood memory, unpacking it as they go. Sweet, wistful, honest, beautiful. Moving in its simplicity and tenderness, this short play demonstrates that specificity breeds universality.

  • What a cliff hanger! Is Trish just a little zany or does she actually have magical powers? This is one of many fun questions posed and probed by this quirky short play. I love how few answers there are here. Vansant writes with great specificity, humor and heart.

  • Anyone who was involved with their High School drama club will relate to this super funny play immediately. It is spot on! I recognized each character in this play as someone from my youth. Nostalgic, well-paced and laugh-out-loud funny.

  • Wow. I love this play and the way it avails itself to a vast myriad of interpretations. It speaks so clearly to the idea that everyone's experience of someone else is different and individual and none is objectively true. Or maybe they are all objectively true in spite of their apparent contradictions. It's rare to find so much science and humanity coupled together in one piece. An excellent read!

  • Ben Rosenblatt: I'm a fan (A Monologue)

A fun, short monologue, perfect for a high schooler needing a zoom audition piece. The speaker eviscerates her teacher with insight, humor and fury.

  • Ben Rosenblatt: CHANCE MEETING (a one-act play)

Pure friendship doesn't get enough stage time, but it's at the heart of this beautifully drawn one act. Chance Meeting offers real, believable characters with depth, and in some respects, is a love letter to NYC in a time that it really needs some love. This is a heartfelt play set during the pandemic, but it manages to be about so much more: companionship, vulnerability and deep connection. Loved it.

  • Ben Rosenblatt: The Class of 2021

What a beautiful play, that brought some tears to my eyes. This is about a loving family trying to cope with this crazy Covid world. Filled with painful honesty and questions that don't yet have answers. If only all families could exhibit this level of respect and understanding with each other.

  • Ben Rosenblatt: Nights from Now On (5 minute play)

Wow. This short piece blew me away, a reminder of the bleak future that awaits if we don't get our collective environmental act together (it may already be too late). The writing is simple, elegant and beautiful, despite the dark theme. We all must pray and do our part so this piece doesn't become prophecy. Thank you for this important short piece. Powerful. Would be a great addition to any short play festival and features a great role for a child actor.

  • Ben Rosenblatt: Haunts

This is a touching and swiftly moving piece about relationships and how they progress. It cleverly traverses gaps of time in an instant and ends with an unexpected twist. There is subtle commentary here about the nature of romance and how all relationships are, at once, both completely unique and entirely the same. This play made me think and feel. A quick and easy, very pleasurable read. Would love to see it performed.
