Artistic Statement

I live in a small Italian city. The culture here demands direct, personal, and constant interaction. A play can create a similar dynamic, can ask that we re-examine our perceptual habits, view the familiar within a new context, and reach beyond the merely rational or the emotionally convenient.

My work has been described as character-driven. I am not sure if this is my preference, or an inability to write anything else. Either way, I am attracted to stories that unfold from inner circumstances, that challenge an audience to surrender first impressions and early judgements, and invite it to join in following the quirky bumper-car trajectories that characters often create when left to their own devices.
