I have a fascination with crime. I’ve written plays about all kinds of crime—art theft, jewel theft, religious scams, embezzlement, spousal abuse, gang violence, infanticide; created characters including a Mafia Don, a meth dealer, an internet predator, prostitutes, serial killers, you name it. But it’s not the crime that fascinates me as much as the humanity behind the person who commits it. What is the starting point that leads someone to cross a moral boundary? And when does that departure from ethics graduate to a felonious existence from which there is no returning the person they once were? You'll find these themes in many of my plays.
