I believe in writing what interests me, intrigues me, puzzles me, exhilarates me, moves me, and then simply hoping that it does those things to an audience, whether it be in a theatre, in front of a TV set, or under a reading lamp. I cannot write based on a prediction of what other people will like or should like. I can only pry into my own sense of life and the important things in it and hope that, in showing what I've found, other people will be amused or illuminated or driven to action.
