  • Arianna Rose: Eighty-One

An absolute stunner of a play. Playwright Bethany Dickens Assaf writes complex, complicated characters that we can't help but feel compassion for. It's always a joy to read a play with a character who's a playwright and in Eighty-One we have two. A gorgeous rumination on isolation, parents and adult children, the ties that fray and the ties that bind. Read this and produce it!

  • Arianna Rose: A Night on the Bridge

What a beautiful play. Poetic, full of surprises, full of empathy for the pain and pleasure of being a human being on this planet. John Medlin evokes a whole world in our imagination with a sparseness of dialogue. Observing these two characters connect is a great joy. Thank you John Medlin for creating these characters, based on a true situation. It will stay with you a long time.

  • Arianna Rose: To The Moon!

A hilarious short play about the webs we weave when we deceive. Joe's lie fuels him all the way to the moon with two astronauts who tell it like it is. So creative and wonderful, To The Moon! is a perfect example of theatricality, imagination, and humor. Playwright Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend has crafted a delightful comedy that should be produced everywhere.

  • Arianna Rose: The Box

I often think about the energy that human beings- and their furry companions - leave behind in places they've lived. Does their happiness and sadness reside in the walls? Do the molecules shimmer with their hopes and dreams? Where does the love go? In Christopher Soucy's beautiful play The Box, Phil and Nell confront their emotions about moving out of their first home together as they dig through a box left by previous occupants. We come to care not only about Phil and Nell, but Max and Melissa, who we never even meet. Bravo. Read and produce!

  • Arianna Rose: A Ruby in a Sky of Diamonds

This play shines as brightly as the diamonds in the sky with ruby. I had a lump in my throat when reading it. Playwright Christopher Plumridge has written with great empathy and craft, tapped into a universal longing...to speak with our loved ones one more time after they pass through the veil. This is gorgeous writing. Summer and April will stay with you long after the last page, and in your heart. Read this and produce it, hopefully immediately!

  • Arianna Rose: Touch Me in the Morning (Ten Minute)

Oh, the cleverness of Paul Donnelly, who draws upon everyone's experiences with dreams to create a delightful and thought-provoking piece. The time-space continuum gets shaken up a bit for Steve and Jack who must find their way back home with a new outlook. Pithy, sharp dialogue, laugh-out-loud lines, and a very satisfying payoff for characters and audience alike! Read and produce.

  • Arianna Rose: He Said It With Flowers (Monologue)

oof! Richard is in trouble, Richard is in trouble...what a tour de force monologue for a woman. Great fun with loads of subtext and twists, building to the perfect ending. A cautionary tale for men with mistresses! I thoroughly enjoyed He Said It With Flowers - boy, did he ever!

  • Arianna Rose: The Not-So-Haunted Auditorium

There is light in the darkness, as Lux says; or more accurately, there is darkness in the light. Teens will LOVE performing this spooky play. I love the shifts in tone, and having been in more than one haunted theatre, playwright Evan Baughfman has expertly created the mood and imagery of that lone ghost light on the stage. To write more would be to give it away. Read it, and then look over your shoulder! Would love to see this produced.

  • Arianna Rose: The Menu

Wow. As a long-time spiritual seeker, I really resonated to this play and to the karmic attributes of choosing which death you want. A thought-provoking piece that will have each audience member squirming a bit but also thinking about what they would choose. Amid all the darkness we can still make choices that help others and rise above our ego-centered selves. I would truly love to see this performed.

  • Arianna Rose: She Sells Sea-Shells

Everything changes but our memories, and yet they are as fluid as the ocean that provides Sally's commodity. She Sells Sea-Shells works on so many levels of theatrical magic. A short play that will give rise to long ruminations about childhood memories, the sea, and what keeps us going in an increasingly cold and careless world. I would love to see this produced. Playwright Samantha Marchant's imagination is a wonderful place to visit.
