I love this play so much (and the human who wrote it, John Mabey) that I use it as a teaching tool in my course 'Writing the Ten-Minute Play'. A absolute stunner of a play, exploring grief, last words, what's left unspoken, what should be spoken, and how we as human beings move forward (or don't) after a tragic loss. Written with Mabey's gorgeous dialogue, fervent imagination, it's timely and timeless. Every time I read it I marvel at its construction and humanity. Produce it always and often!

Just the perfect radio play - the sound effects in and of themselves are an aural treat. A wonderful short play for juvenile performers with an excellent twist at the end. Brought back so many memories of Ouija boards and friendship. Playwright Nora Louise Syran writes with great compassion for her characters.

A lovely play about three individuals - Elana, Jeanne, and Mike, at the local coffee shop. What's so masterful in this short piece by Susan Middaugh is that while it seems nothing really happens, worlds change for the characters by their simple interaction with each other. A reminder of the humanity that binds us, should we choose to let go of our ego and let in goodness - or Godness. And, yes, rooting for the cat lady. Read and produce!

A beautiful play about friendship, redemption, the ties that bind and the ties that bruise. Playwright Robert Weibezahl writes yet another gorgeous play grappling with ethical questions stemming both from the individual and society. A must-read and I'm so glad it's getting produced!

A touching and funny short play about expectations - the ones we lay on ourselves, the ones we are burdened with by others, and finding that place where it's 'good enough'. Playwright Mark Mulkerin uses a Thanksgiving get-together to explore the ghosts of meals past and the promise-or dread - of meals future in this beautiful story about traditions handed down and the people we miss. Required reading and hopefully will be a part of holiday play festivals forever.

Quirky, quarky,...let's call the whole thing off. What I love about Mark Mulkerin's plays are the quirks and the quarks, the compelling characters and how he makes the unexpected inevitable. Masterful writing here in The Secret Life of Marshmallows, as Jordan and Lee struggle with some very serious bumps in their relationship. To paraphrase a line in the play, I trust that if I wait, more plays from Mark Mulkerin will come to me to read - and fan-girl over. Read and produce!

A clever and fun play about how to outwit scammers on the phone. Playwright Romney Murphy has written relatable characters and keeps several plates spinning in the air to "Hello?"'s enjoyable conclusion. Would love to see this play produced.

Wow! I did not expect this play to be as funny as it is, given the subject matter. Playwright Susan Middaugh has crafted two characters who are deeply relatable, at different points in their journey of acceptance of what has happened to their spouses and how their lives have been upended. I was sorry to see this play end. Wonderful dialogue, great payoff at the end, and a situation you'll be thinking about long after reading "end of play". Read and produce!

Wow. What a play! At times scary, at times funny, Fictophilia explores an all-too-possible engagement and the lengths people will go to, to not feel so alone in the world. Playwright J. Lois Diamond has crafted a masterful short play that will have you wondering who's really in the alternate reality. It's receiving productions and deservedly so!
