Will's writing is hypnotic in its deceptive simplicity and this play is no exception. With keen humor and insightful depiction of humans and all their beauty and flaws, Will draws you in and doesn't let to go.

  • Donna Hoke: Dog and Human

This is such a beautiful play! It starts out so funny that you're nearly blindsided by what comes next, which is a touching parable about life, loss, love--and pet ownership lol. I love the dog's personality because, in the end, don't we all just wish our pets could speak? I believe if they could, Ellen has captured what they would say. Just lovely.

  • Donna Hoke: The Gift of da Maggies

So glad that when this scene was cut, it was refashioned as a short play because it stands beautifully on its own and is the most unlikely of the heartwarming Christmas stories that the inmate doesn't believe in. I find that the most magical part of it.

  • Donna Hoke: Appetizers, or "On an Island Somewhere"

Scott does a great job of portraying the heartbreaking futility of conversion efforts. If only I could prop Pence's eyes open with toothpicks and make him watch this.

  • Donna Hoke: The True Meaning of Christmas

Excellent send-up of the fight against capitalism and commercialism at Christmas. Nothing heartwarming about it, and that's the point. Yay!

Hell yes, this is how you do a bench play that isn't just your average bench play!

  • Donna Hoke: Something Old, Something New

I love plays that deliver universal truth with comedy and love, and this one does both perfectly even as it provides some fun roles for older actors. Recommend!

  • Donna Hoke: I Thank My Lucky Stars

A clever monologue that works to show us how complicit we've been, and until the end, we don't even realize how sucked in we are. Great job!

Is this the Yockiest of the Yockey? It might be, and that only means the best possible things. Lyrical, moving, real, poignant, otherworldly, scary... Steve covers it all and seemingly seamlessly. A beautiful read that would no doubt be even more beautiful fully rendered.

A creepy little short that plays well with misdirection. I always wondered what people wrote for those ten-minute horror festivals and now I know!
