This play is the bomb! Both quick and quick-witted, it's an easy one for actors get and run with, and is sure to be the hit of your ten-minute play festival!

  • Donna Hoke: Poetic License

I love the poetic license Sampson takes in crafting the story and in delivering it. A great send-up on the classic fairy tale with lots of laughs!

I didn't expect this play to go where it did, but appreciated this exploration of grief, the unyielding human need for explanation and reason, when, in truth, there isn't any. Beautifully done.

  • Donna Hoke: Flight Path

We jaded fliers forget what it can be like for someone who hasn't yet accepted the relative "safety" of flying. "Flight Path" is a reminder to listen--and not just on airplanes--even when we want nothing more than solitude, because you never know when someone needs to be heard.

  • Donna Hoke: Well That Just Happened

The un-holiday holiday play. A dark and delightful antithesis to the usual more sentimental offerings.

  • Donna Hoke: PERMISSION

What I love about this is that my kids always think I'm just being a parent. They don't get that I was their age or understand that every admonishment or warning comes back with wisdom borne of experience. What I hate is that got so sucked in to that mentality that I didn't see the ending coming and I should have. Good job!

  • Donna Hoke: LIONS

Deeply etched characters in a Rust Belt City--something that resonates with this Buffalonian. As the characters' daily struggles unfold, this play offers a visceral understanding of how shared love for a team allows them to find hope in their existence.

  • Donna Hoke: The Pitchforks

What a cool, sexy, well-crafted, and intense play! I was completely drawn in, turned on, educated, and thrilled in one sitting. I've never read a play like this before. A unique voice.

  • Donna Hoke: Suicide Hotline

People have already said so much about what this play says but I want to add that what I love most about it is what's unspoken, even down to the unsettling--yet darkly comic--end. Later, I'm going to have a pit in my stomach and realize it's because of this play.

Bravo to Patrick for writing the best kind of comedy: conscious, resonant, without frivolity, and unrelenting FUNNY. Perfectly structured and ultimately so satisfying, I hope it continues to find home after home. Highly recommend!
