I have worked professionally in theatre since my twenties. Besides being a playwright, I am also a professional stage director, stage manager, actor and a member of the Dramatists Guild, Honor Roll and International Center for Women Playwrights. I am also a member of Actors Equity Association and SAG/AFTRA, professional unions for theatre and film. My experience on and off stage helps to fuel my playwriting because I know what is needed to make a play work. My first eight plays were produced by a Theatre for Children Company that toured throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, New York State and the American and British Virgin Islands. My goals now are to write parts for women because of the lack of women’s roles on stage. In particular, I write for women over fifty. Since I have started writing older roles, many opportunities for submission have opened up. There are more and more theaters catering to mature people by telling their stories.
