I write plays about technology's effects on human relationships. These are often romantic comedies turned upside down by emerging technology. I come to this work as a working expert in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with previous work in state-of-the-art biotech/genomic research, so the technology described in my plays is typically plausible, if not literally in use today (except when the play is explicitly a farce). Even in the plays that I write that don't seem to be centered around technology, some form of technology often plays a pivotal role in the plot. My work expresses a range of sentiments from positive to negative about the possible future effects of technology upon society. I am interested in what endures in human relationships even in the presence of world-changing advances in the technology we use every day.
