  • Gun Story

What a great intersection of gun violence and autism. The archaic, toxic, masculine father devices need to be gone. Saari does a beautiful job of offering that argument with humor, connection, and grace.

There is true heart in this 10-minute piece by Hightower. From different worlds, two hamsters find their way to a new relationship while leaving old expectations behind.
  • POOPER: A PhD CANDIDATE MONOLOGUE
    24 Apr. 2022
I wish I could write that I have no idea what this is like... but alas...lactose intolerant... too much information? This monologue is too, but that is what makes it so real and funny. An actress would have field day with this witty piece.
  • The Donor Class
    24 Apr. 2022
Imagine...COLORS! I love the tables turning in this smart and witty piece on reproduction in the future. I am a sucker for strong dystopian writing, and The Donor Class satisfies all the requirements. Audiences will love this.
  • Password: 2020 Escape Room [a 1-minute play]
    23 Apr. 2022
Our worst nightmare - we all work furiously to get out of 2020 only to find out it will never end. Bravo, Martin, for capturing all of our feelings in such a tight and well constructed few minutes.

O'Neill-Butler got me. I was hooked with each line of dialogue and the surprise twist was truly delightful. I am always in awe of a playwright who can do so much with so few pages.

So lovely to find humor during the pandemic! I adore a good twist, and Walker delivers it with perfect timing and ease.
  • Sweeping with the Enemy
    23 Apr. 2022
Priceless - especially the stage manager's revelation. The tension between these two moms is familiar, worrisome, AND hilarious! This would be a treat at any 10-minute festival.
  • An Apple A Day
    23 Apr. 2022
Moments of twisted wonder turn into a quick and painful reality in this face-paced piece. A beautiful dance between reality and fantasy - an apple a day will not keep this doctor away. I would love to see this staged.
  • Divided Requiem (One Act)

"The ground has shifted in ways that can’t be repaired." WOW! This short play is tragic, raw, and painful in all the right places. We need more pieces that show a same sex marriage in the same, familiar moments that EVERYONE faces in the throws of tragedy.
