  • Nora Louise Syran: I’m Worried About Lucille

A delightful nod to Charles M. Shultz and his Peanuts protagonists. Loved it! From the opening sound effects of Lucy building her nickel-a-session psychiatric booth--a word her mother cannot even spell--to comforting themselves that at least they're doing a better job parenting than Pigpen's parents...I laughed and laughed. Bravo!

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Ultimate Christmas Question

Great fun! Rachel Feeny-Wiliams has a gift for comedy. The sparring between these two characters as to which Christmas movie to watch is just delightful. Neither wins, but neither loses either ;)

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Bear - Beginnings

I am delighted Christopher Plumridge is bringing his Bear to life. https://youtu.be/4_FvKCdw2XY. Cannot wait for number two...the blood trickling, the cuckoo bird...I'm intrigued...a vampire bear?

  • Nora Louise Syran: Feeling Devilish

A little bit nice and a whole lot of naughty. A funny short play sure to bring out the devil in you!

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Urn

A cross country adventure of two sisters and the interesting characters they pick up along the way--characters who all find themselves "in the right car" as no one really has a clear destination in mind. Or do they? What could be very dark with the urn ever present is amusing and heartwarming; from ashes spring new life for them all. (Would work super well on the screen!)

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Rotary Phone

This is as charmingly funny as I’d hoped it would be! The references to names are hysterical. And allusions to the 70s, priceless! Great fun for actors and audience alike.

  • Nora Louise Syran: Barn Wood and Blue Roses (FULL LENGTH VERSION)

A lovely play with strong roles for young performers and plenty of possibilities for a set, costume and lighting director. Love how Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn weaves a tale set believably between the world of comforting imagination and harsh reality.

  • Nora Louise Syran: Hats

I attended a very successful reading of this play last night and was impressed with how even during a cold reading the actors had no trouble highlighting Cathro's skill in capturing the depths of what love in a couple means--in all its messiness, loveliness, hopefulness and hopelessness. And while yes the actors were talented, it really comes down to the writing which is fluid, clear, poetic and inventive. Actors and audience alike were charmed. Once again, Cathro's love of humanity comes through. Bravo.

  • Nora Louise Syran: AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, A Play for Videoconference

A play that captures the isolation and helplessness of day four of the pandemic and yet it still smarts. Well done to playwright Rachael Carnes for capturing the absurdity and chaos of it all.
