  • Nora Louise Syran: Political Bedfellows

To borrow the French term for stuffing, this "farce" is stuffed chocker-block full of silly, sexy fun! It was hysterical to read and I can well imagine would be a fun piece to perform and even one for Rachel to expand into a Noises Off meets *insert your favorite political comedy* parody. Great fun.

  • Nora Louise Syran: Pas de deux

A lovely story of overcoming doubt and lost chances. A wonderful double entendre in the title and a great short play for two women.

  • Nora Louise Syran: When We Talked

Murphy captures perfectly the communication that any pet owner--certainly of a dog or cat--knows exists between man and beast. The characterizations are spot on and the subject matter perfectly timely and universal all at once. It was fun to play the cat in this play's first reading and I can tell you this short show will be a crowd pleaser for sure. Just the right amount of sweet!

  • Nora Louise Syran: Green Sound - Zoom/Factime/Online version

Lovely. Intriguing dialogue that draws you in. You will love these two characters. Poetic perfection. Caught a lovely reading online on Back Porch Theatre with Miranda Jonte and Vince Gatton. https://www.facebook.com/backporchtheater/videos/286005940347665

  • Nora Louise Syran: Sorry I'm Late

"We just yelled at cars together!" Love it. A little snapshot of life in the city. Instead of fighting, try sitting and seeing life from someone else's perspective. A deceptively deep little piece that will leave audiences smiling, turning to each other and talking. What more do you want from theatre?!

  • Nora Louise Syran: Before You Go, a monologue

"A different sort of strength in that boy. A kindness. A Confidence. Unapologetically himself." Lovely. A wonderful portrayal of a mother's unconditional love for her son. The Back Porch Theatre reading/workshop is here: https://fb.watch/iR60ZbIp47/ Writers, actors, directors, mothers and sons... there's something here for everyone.

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Book of Merman: A Musical

I caught a matinee performance at the Skokie Theatre in Chicago. It was a delightful show and everyone around me agreed. Small set and cast but packed with Broadway spirit. Not one "limp" moment! It's full of humanity --funny, caring and open--and like the "stupid pink door," a little bit delightfully "camp"! While there was also "profanity," it's a perfect show for one and all, whether you know who Merman is or not-- as the point is to find out who YOU are. Great fun. Recommended.

  • Nora Louise Syran: Please Tell Me You're Ok

No, this play should not be produced. Ever. It should not have to be. I ask you please do NOT produce this play. Better yet, do not attend this play. Do not watch. Do not learn. Do not see that this is happening everywhere, all the time as Dzubak's simple yet powerful staging makes very clear; this play can be performed by anyone, any sex, any gender, any color, any age, anyone, anywhere. Do not produce this play and change the way things have been so they don't have to be this way any longer.

  • Nora Louise Syran: Descanso

This is a touching memorial, a "descanso" (a memorial by the side of the road for a life lost in an automobile accident) to a life lost, and lives forever impacted. This quiet, gentle piece captures the sense of loss but also the need and struggle to move on, to take down the physical reminders in order to remember that life does indeed go on. Painful, but cathartic.

  • Nora Louise Syran: LOVE AIN'T

Super! A cold plunge of reality. Great juxtaposing, world-wise imagery. Lermond strikes again!
