  • Nora Louise Syran: CORNUCOPIA

Thoroughly enjoyable! Some hysterically funny lines. A real Thanksgiving feast: a pressure cooker of obligations from ironing Gran's linen napkins to squeezing 12 "locusts" round a ...table! Great fun.

  • Nora Louise Syran: WE HAVE TO TALK

As they say, never assume; it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me"! Adorable. I love your snapshots of real life, Vivian.

  • Nora Louise Syran: FUMBLEWINTER (Full-length version)

Carnes takes us on a wild ride starting with a "Waiting for Godot"-like opening with its cyclical dialogue to the icy business jargon and chaos at the "Thing" --like no other Thing!--to an ending we'd like very much to go back and find the threads to, to change, but in true norse style, we cannot. Great! Favorite line: "I scoop out my earwax with a spoon!"

  • Nora Louise Syran: Stop Laughing Without Me

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see" --Edgar Degas This is no easy task. We can relate to both playwright and producer. I very much appreciated the ending's final twist of the proverbial knife. Great cringeworthy fun!

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Volitive Effect of Oral Literary Inundation on the LSTM Recurrent Neural Network

A charming 10 minute ride through classic literature in “sound-bytes"— through which a machine teaches us about the creative process, especially how addictive it can be. Simple but effective staging. Bravo!

  • Nora Louise Syran: POULTRY ... PLEASE!

Lermond whips up "vegan vittles" for Thanksgiving! Short, sweet --no "disgusting dessert"--and it ends in good old "Christmas-story-like" fashion! You clearly enjoy what you do, Vivian! Brava!

  • Nora Louise Syran: Demon Bitch Goddess

The title did not prepare me for the utterly comical, touching and beautifully human stories to follow. Pieces spouting ridiculously charming dialogue coming straight from the "mouth of babes" to profound and touching moments all woven together with threads of greek mythology; all three are different in style, story and structure but are drawn together by their profound humanness. Loved them. Favorite comic lines: "I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to be the one wearing it"... "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" and "Actually, she was plain as a door."

  • Nora Louise Syran: Not a Problem

Very funny and so relatable. Hard wedges of fruitcake, horrid home decorations and day drinking—gotta love the holidays. Loved the build up to the title. Cheeky fun!

  • Nora Louise Syran: Finger

I love that such a creepy idea for a play can be simultaneously wholesome, oddly life-affirming and uplifting. Favorite line: "There could be NINE OTHER BOXES OUT THERE." Bravo!

  • Nora Louise Syran: Stay Awhile

A touching, universal piece that mixes the complexities of grief, ageing and love --with a "pinch of sugar" for good measure. Perfect for the ZOOM medium. Brava.
