I came to playwriting from improv comedy, and for a long time, specialized in whimsical or absurd humor laced with social commentary. More recently, I've been drawn to weightier material, particularly involving essentially good people trapped in seemingly impossible situations that force them to prioritize and sacrifice their own values. My characters rarely say what they're actually thinking, which has been my experience in real life, for better or for worse.
