  • Peter Dakutis: DOLORES THE PLUMBER - MONOLOGUE

Great character. Great story. Wonderful word play. Everyone will love this monologue!

  • Peter Dakutis: Ghosts on Vacation

Ghosts on Vacation looks like it's going to be a sweet Halloween play, and it is in a way, but it turns into a beautiful meditation on love and happiness. I think it would be perfect in any 10-minute play festival. Love is love.

  • Peter Dakutis: It's A Wonderful Satan

As someone who was never a fan of It's a Wonderful Life, I'm delighted that John Mabey wrote this play to reestablish order in the universe. That old red devil Satan is feeling blue. Never fear, because the demon Clarence is there to earn his horns by helping Satan. Or maybe be very afraid. The twists and turns are a big part of the fun. Turns out that Mabey is a sly devil!

  • Peter Dakutis: The Actress - One Act Play

Ryan Kaminski is developing a strong reputation for audience-pleasing thrillers with surprises and reversals. The Actress is no exception. It is (mostly) a two-hander with strong roles for women. I particularly love the character of Mrs. Leigh, although Candace is no slouch!

  • Peter Dakutis: Scones (or, Macbeth Part II)

Who knew that the origin of the curse of the Scottish play was like a fractured fairy tale? Jake Lewis has great fun crafting this play about the three weird sisters, and audiences should enjoy it immensely. Bonus points for the ingredients that go into the curse. It's not all fun and games, though. Lewis makes some serious points about the plight of women in history, which adds depth to the play. Now, I'm off to find some scones!

  • Peter Dakutis: Stella Adler, a monologue

This is a lovely tribute to Stella Adler and the imagination. Miller brilliantly encapsulates Adler's passion in this monologue. There is plenty of truth for an actor to find in this piece. Brava!

  • Peter Dakutis: GOIN’ BACK TO GOONSVILLE - A Short Spoof on Sappy Seasonal Movies (FROM THE CRACKED UP CHRISTMAS COLLECTION)

As someone who enjoys those sappy seasonal movies, I'm also appreciate of Vivian Lermond for giving us a very clever and entertaining reality check. And for icing on the holiday cookies, she adds a delicious twist at the end!

  • Peter Dakutis: The Perils of Paul a one minute play

The Perils of Paul is a clever feminist reworking of the tired old trope of the damsel in distress. D. Lee Miller reverses the roles and ties the male character to the railroad tracks, resulting in a very imaginative and amusing play. This is one I hope to see performed someday.

  • Peter Dakutis: you shit, you shave, you sleep (a One-Minuted play)

This is a perfect one-minute play. It's no wonder that it was selected for the 2021 Gi60 UK production. Lee Lawing sets up an end-of-the world scenario and resolves it beautifully, with a nice little twist at the end!

  • Peter Dakutis: HIBERNUS

Sheer poetry. This gorgeous monologue celebrates the beauty of winter and evokes a sense of peace. I've seen two performances of it, and they were both magical. Actors should love performing this piece!
