Among the greatest assets of drama is its ability to reflect us to ourselves, forcing us to confront and try to understand the strengths and weaknesses of our common humanity. A truthful examination of self is usually not easy, but necessary for our growth as a society.
I believe theatricality should be an inherent part of telling the story, that the best plays are written specifically for the stage, and do not necessarily translate easily or well to other performance media.
