Dramas are our dreams brought to life. Sometimes they are so real there is no distance from daily reality. Sometimes they are so fanciful they seem to come from an alternative universe. As a playwright I commit myself to listening. Sometimes the voices in my head mimic real experience; sometimes I don't know what they are telling us until the words are on the page or in an actor's voice on the stage. Curiously, they can become someone different when they speak to you.
