  • Anne G. Morgan: The Female Quixote

I am delighted to recommend this play after having had the pleasure of attending a zoom reading of this play when it was part of Hollins Playwright’s Lab 2020 Playwrights Festival. The Female Quixote is a high-energy, well-paced, engaging celebration of the power of imagination and the power of female friendships. This smart and sweet coming-of-story is skillful in its writing and theatricality.

  • Anne G. Morgan: miku, and the gods.

A theatrical treat. This play is funny, smart, and self-assured. I could picture a production of it in my mind as I watched the reading, and now I want someone to produce it so I can see the real thing. I especially appreciated the lightness with which the heavy themes were handled, and I loved the chorus of the gods.

This funny play keeps you on its toes as the audience - and Harry, the main character - tries to make sense of their realities. Full of fantastical elements, at its heart, the play is a moving story of friendship and aging.

This is a gorgeously urgent play, with a clear focus on its characters, a deep theatricality, and a lyric poeticism.

  • Anne G. Morgan: A Power Play; Or, What's-its-name
