Artistic Statement

I write plays to explore who we are. My plays lead me. I might start with an idea from my personal history or some place I’ve never been but long to go, often locating a terrain of characters who are wounded, failing, surviving, looking for answers from each other or the stars . . . dreamers dreaming of some future promise of hope . . . and I follow where it leads, with a sliver of trust. There is often one thing in common: characters in search of some form of love or truth or justice. They don’t always find it.
