  • Robin Berl: The Choice (Commercium #3)

Such a unique idea from the playwright and incredibly thought provoking, especially for parents to consider what they would do if given the same choice as Stan and Joan. The characters are passionate, hopeful, fearful, loving--rich roles for actors to play. The Choice would make a great addition to any short play festival!

  • Robin Berl: PORTABLE DINERS (a 10 minute comedy)

This is a fast-paced intimate unflinchingly honest portrait of new motherhood. I laughed, I cringed, I cried, I thankfully did not leak breastmilk. Each mother is a fully developed character, unique and yet not alone in her experience. I would love to see these characters on stage! I would love to play one of these characters on stage! Incredibly well done!

  • Robin Berl: Lessons in Feeling Human

Alli Hartley-Kong presents a beautiful lesson in feeling human in this powerful one act play. The playwright honors the individual and collective experiences of the first few months of COVID life with gentle honesty. This play touched on the grief we carry for what used to be normal life and for those lost. I am left full of hopeful notes of moving forward into a future where we never take for granted human connection. Truly wonderful!

  • Robin Berl: Ugly Doctor Hospital

This play was a great reprieve from taking medical issues seriously. Very fun!

  • Robin Berl: Gaydestown

This play is amazing! A humorous, yet deeply emotional exploration of all the pandemic feels- loneliness, reconnecting with exes that are better left exes, desperately wanting things to go "back to normal", and embracing a new normal (whatever that means!). No spoilers, but *that moment* (you'll know what I mean when you read it--and you must read it!)--is. everything. Bavoso has done an excellent job of capturing our current situation in time in a way that both hurts and heals. Wonderfully done!

  • Robin Berl: North Star

A beautifully hopeful play with rich roles for young actors! Although filtered through a religious viewpoint (mentions of prayer, heaven, and God), this play is not openly preachy and the themes (perseverance, manifestations of grief, courage, hope, connection to loved-ones lost) are universal across many belief systems. This play truly touched on so many emotions and speaks to so much of our current times (even though it is set "a century or so ago"). Well done!

  • Robin Berl: Check and Mate

This play is truly charming featuring many wonderful laugh-out-loud moments! The roles of Thea and Bett are perfectly clever and I love these opportunities for an oft left-out community of amazing actresses. Fabulously joyful short play!

  • Robin Berl: Pointing Toes

This play is absolutely beautiful. The writing, the relationships, the staging. I love the playwright's use of the split stage to bring the past to life as they are in Helena's memories and now Louisa's imagination. The play is so full of movement, the story becomes a dance. The connection between grandmother and granddaughter is so meaningful and the playwright does a wonderful job bringing it center stage!

  • Robin Berl: Meaning Well

This is such a sweet and loving story! The ending is my favorite part!

  • Robin Berl: Who me?

Feeny-Williams has created an expansive world in "Who Me" bringing mundane tasks of domestic life alive as dramatic obstacles for main character, Angela. I enjoyed spending time as Angela's guest, getting to know her, and hearing her story!
