  • Mathew Green: Baskin Robbins at a Mall

Palace intrigue in an ice cream shoppe. An excellent short comedy/thriller about corporate and moral maneuvering. A truly fun read.

  • Mathew Green: WIN AND TIM AND THE IMPORTANCE OF PRONOUNS [A 1-MINUTE PLAY]

The 1-minute play fascinates me, as a format, and I greatly admire the skill and spirit that exists in crafting a vignette so full of tenderness and lived-in sincerity. This is a beautiful example of the genre, and it would be a lovely moment in any length work.

  • Mathew Green: A GOOD DAY

Like the object at its center, this play is a fragile, beautiful thing. The events that transpire are inordinately powerful, given the brief amount of time we spend in the world this play imagines. A deeply effective and affecting piece. Bravo.

  • Mathew Green: Helping Hand

This is a fascinating short play, with a story sure to inspire audience discussion. Science, mystery, and mythology combine to create a memorable encounter with the unknown that results not in dread but in hope. Lovely work.

  • Mathew Green: The Wexelford Murder

This is a highly entertaining send-up of British chamber dramas and whodunnits. Expert executed and filled with memorable gags, characters, and wordplay. Nicely done.

  • Mathew Green: Tech Support for Villains

This is a thoroughly entertaining piece that both venerates and sends up the comic book cliches of good vs. evil. Tightly plotted, smartly paced, and very funny. And a lot of fun, I should think, for both actors and audiences. (Not to mention whoever gets to build the death ray.) Great work.

  • Mathew Green: Two-Timing Loaf of Bread

I just finished reading this, and I cannot stop smiling. What a full-on piece of genius this is. Absurd, hilarious, and somehow relatable...? Maybe that's my love/hate relationship with carbs talking. Outstanding comedic writing. Highly recommended.

  • Mathew Green: Pompadour (Bascom & Isaac #3)

I'm so pleased that I decided to treat myself to a Bascom & Isaac play this morning. Especially this one. These two characters are delightful, and watching their relationship grow over time is great fun. This episode has the lovely distinction of containing a huge moment contained, like nougat, inside the sweet outer shell of a comic interlude.

  • Mathew Green: Godfart

This short play is lit from within by kindness and warmth. It's not that all is well in the world we are presented, but all is handled gently, and we as readers come away the better for it.

  • Mathew Green: Saver (a ten minute play)

This play about memories, their accumulation, and their repositories, has such a light touch, yet its impact on the heart is like that of a hammer. The pacing is elegant, never rushed, and yet the play flies by like time itself. Very impressive.
