My writing primarily explores the complexity of what makes us human, particularly in relationship—inner and outer conflict. This is true in my plays, my songs, and the weekly piece I write called the Monday Morning Quote. I am always trying to shift perspective, reveal a character or an angle that has not been fully brought forth, and to see how that affects the landscape of stories we already know and maybe even take for granted. I am always trying to get deeper, more layered, more complex understandings of the self and of the interactions we have with others.
