  • 10/26/2025: I saw an excellent staged reading of a 10-minute version of this brilliant play at the Midwest Dramatists Conference 2025. This was so powerful, so poignant, so provocative. Imaginations abound as the dreamy hellscape brings out the darkest fears and secrets buried deep inside the minds. The actors and directors would have a field day blocking and performing this complex, challenging, and immensely satisfying piece, and the audience will enjoy it to the fullest! Bravo!

  • 10/26/2025: I saw an excellent staged reading of this brilliant play at the Midwest Dramatists Conference 2025. The events in 'Ghost of Shabbos Past" take place during a Shabbos evening, when the Ghost of Nachman, Benjamin's deceased grandfather, visits Benjamin. The next ten minutes offered an exquisite portrayal of reconciliation with one's own self, with grief, longing, regrets- the themes are so universal that every single person in the audience related to this short play. Bravo!

  • 10/25/2025: I saw an excellent staged reading of this brilliant play at the Midwest Dramatists Conference 2025. The play reveals an award-winning professor's true motivation behind his teaching methods and delivers a jarring punch to the current state of the student-teacher relationship in academia! And the best part is that you don't even have to be in academia to relate to the events and appreciate this hilarious play! Bravo!

  • 10/25/205: Each person deals with grief and loss in their own, unique way. Tinged with humor and compassion, Scott Sickle's brilliant play, "Hibernation," is a testament to the yearning for connection, compassion, and love among mundane, flawed people —people like us, people we encounter in our daily lives. This is the sort of play that fills the audience with a strange warmth as we all relate to the joys and sufferings life brings. Brilliantly done!

  • Abhisek Bhattacharya: Interplanetary Paul's Divorce Spectacular

10/25/205: I saw an excellent staged reading of this brilliant play at the Midwest Dramatists Conference 2025. Indeed, some men would rather rent a black box theatre and stage an elaborate sci-fi fantasy, visualizing their ex-wife as evil incarnate, than go to therapy! The actors and directors would have a field day blocking and performing this piece, and the audience will enjoy it to the fullest! Bravo!

  • Abhisek Bhattacharya: A Girl Who Acts Like That

10/24/2025: I saw an excellent staged reading of this brilliant play at the MDC 2025. The events in 'A Girl Who Acts Like That" take place in 1972, Nebraska, USA. However, the themes are universal. The oppression, the problems girls face, the anger, the frustration —this play transcends time, culture, and society; it's universal. Bravo!

  • Abhisek Bhattacharya: Age of Chimes

10-24-2025: I saw an excellent staged reading of this brilliant play at the MDC 2025. A simple beginning about the third date between two characters dissolves into a profoundly nuanced tale in which time bends, characters grow older or younger, and their relationship changes. However, despite the disparity in their ages at different points in the play, the underlying love evolves and assumes an almost surreal quality —a brilliant premise enhanced by excellent dialogue and imagery. Bravo!

  • Abhisek Bhattacharya: 37 Origami Bees

10-23-2025: I was privileged to witness a great staged reading of this brilliant play at the Midwest Dramatists Conference 2025. The themes are so universal and hilariously presented that almost every person will find a connection with the protagonist's situation. A perfect example of what happens when humans and technology swap their roles in their respective reliance, when the technology becomes the controller. A marvelous play! Bravo!

  • Abhisek Bhattacharya: Rendezvous

Anger, agony, regret- a vicious cycle that goes on and on. Ken Love's "Rendezvous" is an emotionally charged, gripping piece about an unfulfilled husband and his turbulent emotions. The play starts with Marvin waiting for Tina on one of his "mental health days" and ends sinisterly as Marvin's grip tightens on Tina's hand. As we listen to Marvin's rage, desperation, and grief- we keep wondering what else he does during his mental health days. The audience will love this brilliant piece, and the actors and director will have a field day.
