  • Morey Norkin: A Very Special Hanukkah Special (a ten minute play)

This is the Hanukkah story the world has been waiting for! Well, I have. Mark Harvey Levine understands the fundamental truth that Hanukkah can never compete with Christmas. But if you pay homage to the best known Christmas stories, you can create the funniest Hanukkah story ever! Judging by the number of productions, A VERY SPECIAL HANUKKAH SPECIAL is well on its way to becoming a holiday classic.

  • Morey Norkin: The Winter Wolf

This winter tale from Jacquie Priskorn is sure to send a chill down your spine. I don’t know anyone else who could combine improv, folklore, suspense, and horror so successfully in such a short time span. Three great roles for actors and a story that will leave audiences howling.

  • Morey Norkin: Taylor-Made

John Busser’s comedy chops are on full display here, but so is his ability to provide thoughtful commentary. In this case, a device that offers prospective parents endless options to design their child offers laughs as well as consideration of what those choices might mean in real life. A comedy with real depth. Great work.

  • Morey Norkin: Rotted

Zombies wax philosophical and it’s a laugh riot! Can’t wait to listen to this one on the Broken Arts Entertainment podcast.

  • Morey Norkin: NOT Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Back with new names and lots of attitude, these seven dwarves mean business. If they can’t do a panto, they’ve got lots of other ideas! This is just plain fun! Lots of laughs for the whole family. Can’t wait for the Spielberg movie!

  • Morey Norkin: One Night Rescue

Anastasia Wild offers us a modern take on the Cinderella fairytale with clever dialogue and a believable scenario. Katie may not have met her Prince Charming, as she is certain they don't exist, but in Dan she has at least met someone who did the right thing at the right time. And maybe that's all these two are meant to share. Who knows? The speculation will keep audiences buzzing.

  • Morey Norkin: After the War is Over

What a beautifully crafted piece that perfectly juxtaposes a tender post war reunion with a visit to the same spot 60 years later. In the first instance, we see a young soldier meeting his sweetheart at their favorite park bench, eager to forget his wartime experience In the latter, we see the same fellow unable to remember more than that meeting. This one certainly pulls at your heartstrings. So well done.

  • Morey Norkin: Kaylee and Adelyn

An endearing tale of the “second” twin turns tragically into the tale of the surviving twin. A simple set and Elizabeth Shannon’s exquisite narrative combine to heighten the impact of this haunting, emotional piece. Outstanding.

  • Morey Norkin: 13 Seconds with Lin-Manuel Miranda

I’m a lot older than 15, but I think I would still be tongue-tied if I met Lin Manuel Miranda. This is a cute and clever story not only about hero worship but about finding your own voice. And one crazy app. Another wonderful TYA entry for Claudia Haas!

  • Morey Norkin: The Psychopomp

On a car ride down a long, dark road, two young women are in search of a ghost. But Aly Kantor flips the script, and a humorous story suddenly reveals serious undertones. The subject matter is handled with great care, just as you would hope in a real-life situation. Beautiful.
