  • Jennifer O'Grady: SUMMER (CONCENTRATION) CAMP COLORING CLUB

An unflinching, gut-punching and very timely play about a horrible situation in the U.S. today. The dialogue interspersed with children's artwork is a powerful and uniquely theatrical juxtaposition that left me reeling, as it should. This play should be performed for audiences everywhere.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: All the Difference

A totally lovely and very real-sounding play about two seemingly different and clearly lonely people who find themselves bonding and being helped by each other in a library. I love the dialogue about Frost's poetry, and the offstage Shusher is a wonderful counterpoint to the increasingly self-revelatory dialogue on stage. Hageman is such a gifted playwright with a sure command of the stage and the ability to show us the inner workings of her characters in way that makes them feel like actual living people. This would make a terrific addition to any play fest.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: The Hour of Feeling

This has long been one of my favorite plays. Highly, highly recommend.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: the wolf you feed

I had the pleasure of hearing a partial reading of this and was so excited that I went and read the rest. It's a wonderfully theatrical play with some really fascinating characters (including wolves!) that expertly balances humor with the darker subject matter of its main character's story. It's a totally engrossing play and I would love to see this on stage.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: NO LITTLE WOMEN

I love this smart and funny play--the voices of the girls and their reactions to the novel sound so real, as does the teacher (who reminds me a lot of of an English teacher I know)--and so much happens in these few pages. This would make a totally wonderful addition to any short-play fest and would be great for schools too.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: YOU MOTHER

An extraordinarily suspenseful and ultimately heartbreaking confrontation between two mothers dealing in very different ways with traumatic losses due to a school shooting.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: ReactaCap

I had the pleasure of hearing the 29th Street reading of this play recently, and what fun it is! This is a fast-paced comedy with great roles for women and much to say about gender discrimination in business. The audience loved it!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Batman Vs. The Joker at the Laundromat

Super-funny play from Hageman that's a marvelous parody of superheroes (Batman in particular, who seems to have no actual super abilities) plus a sly commentary on toxic masculinity and "buddy" relationships, that also (brilliantly) manages to be poignant as well. I love that it's set in a laundromat of all places. A complete delight.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: OCTOPUS KID: A BEACH MONOLOGUE

An incredibly moving, inventive monologue (with flashes of very funny and poignant humor) delivered by a child who goes to great lengths to get beachgoers to listen to his urgent message about how adult selfishness and carelessness are harming the world he's growing up in. Made me tear up, and would be wonderful to see in performance--I doubt there would be a dry eye.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: The Tower (5 minute)

Terrific two-hander--in just a few pages Burbano's characters, one of whom is famous, tell us so much, both by what they say and what they don't say, about their contrasting ideas of power and success. This play keeps unfolding after you stop reading it.
