my work is, first and foremost, rooted in a deep love for the trans community. especially reconciling with the tumultuous relationship between transness and theater, i envision trans playwriting as an intervention where trans people get to tell trans stories. as we move into an era of unprecedented demonization of trans folks, i view playwriting as a vehicle to defend and celebrate our humanity.
